Emerald Metal Fabricators 2000 Ltd. (E.M.F.) is a fully operational metal fabrication facility located just west of Tofield, Alberta. At E.M.F., our personnel are strict believers in our 'Customer First' business practice, which is depicted in the corporate culture set down and demonstrated by E.M.F.'s management team. The management at E.M.F. assumes tremendous pride in the planning, design, development and fabrication of every project that E.M.F. is engaged in. Each one of our projects is carried out and inspected by E.M.F.'s own specialists to make certain the highest standards of quality control are undertaken and to ensure the timely completion of all projects for our clients.

E.M.F. specializes in welding carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum used in the design and development of several products mainly for use by energy exploration, refining and mining, chemical, food processing, sewage, oil and gas industries, pulp and paper industries and the wine and spirit industries. E.M.F. is licensed to carry out projects in the fabrication of storage tanks, pressure piping and piping facilities as well as structural steel. Concentrating in these construction areas, E.M.F. has worked on an assortment of projects ranging from shop and field built tanks, piping facilities, pipelines, platforms and staircases as well as skids, sewage lift stations, tank pads, well pads, and silos. Along with our custom products E.M.F. also provides, tank inspection, repair and alterations to API 653, mobile welding to remote sites, cranes, man lifts, as well as safety program development and auditing from our certified auditors.

With such a broad base of products and services, accompanying a vast number of industries, E.M.F. is able to work with a large spectrum of clients with varying wants and needs. The sales staff at E.M.F. works closely with several of the top engineering firms for the Oil and gas industry as well as with the Operations Management of several Oil and Gas companies located mainly in Calgary, Alberta and Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. As a member of the Edmonton Construction Association, E.M.F. is able to look at numerous projects for a wide variety of customers ranging from engineering companies and construction companies to local, provincial and federal government agencies.

In order to ensure that all the needs of our customers are met, E.M.F. has developed a marketing strategy focused on educating all of our clients of our capacities, capabilities and scheduling. E.M.F. has a main office located in Tofield, Alberta as well as a Saskatchewan operations office in Unity, Saskatchewan. E.M.F. utilizes both offices to serve our customers, which come from all across Western Canada. Highly experienced sales personnel with an intricate knowledge of E.M.F. products and services head both our Tofield and Unity offices. Our sales personnel incorporate a personal relationship with our clients and communicate with them on a regular basis. The Sales Staff here at E.M.F. are also consistently looking for new clientele, booking appointments and advertising E.M.F.'s production capabilities.

Emerald Metal Fabrications was the brainchild of Ron LaFayette (President and C.E.O.) who created the company in 1980, which was at that time called Bulldog Welding Limited. Bulldog Welding Limited, subcontracted for several large oil drilling companies. In 1985 Ron took Bulldog Welding Limited to one of Western Canada's Major Tanks & Equipment Manufacturers as an exclusive subcontractor. Ron LaFayette went on to become their Welding Supervisor for a major tank manufacturer in 1987. In 1989 Ron decided to change the name of Bulldog Welding Limited and thus Emerald Metal Fabricators was created. By the year 2000 Ron became the Field Superintendent for the same major tank manufacturer that he brought Bulldog Welding to in 1987. This union carried on until 2004 when E.M.F. went out on its own. Since then Ron has put together a hand picked team of specialists from within the tank fabricating and oil and gas industries to take E.M.F. to the next level. Since moving out on its own, E.M.F. has developed strong customer relationships with Oil companies such as, Husky Energy, Nexen Inc., MEG Energy, Petro Gas, Devon Canada, Encana, Pembina Pipelines, Deep Well Energy and EOG Resources. E.M.F. has also developed strong relationships and is engaged on bidding projects with several engineering companies including, Bar Engineering, Veco Engineering, Colt Engineering, Integra Energy, Worley Parsons and Makloc Buildings Inc. E.M.F. is currently completing projects for Makloc Buildings Inc., ATCO Power, Nexen Canada, University of Alberta, Shell Canada and Talisman. E.M.F. is also in discussion to engage upon several other projects in the first and second quarters of 2008.

Emerald Metal Fabricators 2000 Ltd. is a limited company ran solely by Ron E. LaFayette, who has been running the company for over twenty-five (25) years. Ron works very closely with the day-to-day operations of the facility as well as his management team, bringing a tremendous amount of experience in the welding trade to the table. Ron Achieved Alberta Red Seal in 1978 in Edmonton, Alberta and went on to achieve Alberta Red Seal for B Pressure Welding shortly there after. Ron opened his first portable welding company in 1980, Bulldog Welding Limited, which would later become Emerald Metal Fabricators Ltd. in 1989. Ron has over 30 years of experience building and designing storage tanks, piping stations, process piping, lift stations, sub arc stations, and vessels. Over the past 30 years, Ron has built and designed tanks ranging from 100 barrels to field construction of large 100,000 barrel tanks and has had no loss time injuries on any of his crews. Ron's vast experience in metal fabrication is aided by his numerous accreditations in both safety and quality assurance programs and has achieved API 653 certification as well as certification in CWB CSA standard W47.1-03, and ASME B31.3 in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Ron is an avid proponent of both safe and the environmentally friendly work practices on every job that an E.M.F. employee is engaged in, requiring every member of E.M.F.'s field and shop crews to fully understand the importance of all OH&S codes, as well as the EUB's Directive 55, before initiating any project. Ron is presently expanding Emerald Metal Fabricators 2000 Ltd. into one of Alberta's leading tank manufacturing businesses in addition to a leading process piping manufacturer.
