Emerald Metal Fabricators 2000 Ltd. has a very broad customer base in which to operate in. Metal fabrication and welding are involved in many different areas of construction and are constantly being sought after. E.M.F. is capable of building storage tanks of varying sizes for the petroleum industry as well as chemical industries, pulp and paper, waste management, wine and spirits and breweries. All of these industries require the use of storage tanks for an array of processes, giving us at E.M.F. an abundant amount of options in which to focus our marketing strategy. Many of E.M.F.'s competitors are focused in the Oil and Gas sector in Alberta, allowing E.M.F. to focus on the Oil and Gas sectors in other provinces as well as on companies in other industries that require storage facilities.
With oil and gas exploration starting to take off in Saskatchewan the need for storage facilities is rising exponentially. Being positioned just outside of Tofield, Alberta gives E.M.F. easy shipping access to both Alberta and Saskatchewan. With a sales office in Unity Saskatchewan, E.M.F. has the potential to build close working relationships with many of the petroleum companies in Saskatchewan. E.M.F. has the potential for acquiring a large market share in Saskatchewan's tank business due to a very small competition base in the area, as well as expertise when it comes to building large field erected tanks or complex shop tanks. The increasing expansion of the oil and gas industry leaves a tremendous opening for us at E.M.F. to market ourselves throughout the rest of Western Canada. The slow down in Alberta's oil and gas production in 2007, does not necessitate a slow down for E.M.F. production, due to the expansion into other provinces, namely Saskatchewan.
E.M.F. is also not solitarily focused on storage facilities and tanks. E.M.F. has recently expanded operations to include the construction of sewage lift stations, well pads, as well as pressure piping. Pressure piping is in major demand in the oil sands projects as well as in refining plants and pumping stations. There is a constant demand for these intricate products and there are not a lot of other companies with the expertise and skill to build such products. The Syncrude, Suncor, and Horizon Projects are just a small number of major operations going on in Northern Alberta, that are constantly looking for suppliers for these products. Very few of E.M.F.'s competitors can build these products and the ones who can are at times so busy that they are unable to meet the scheduled delivery dates requested by the customer. There are also lift stations, ladders and platforms and structural steel, which are at a high demand due to the rapid rate of expansion going on throughout Western Canada, especially, Alberta. New buildings and communities are popping up around Alberta every other week and there is a constant need for companies to build the infrastructure that is required for these initiatives. E.M.F. is set up and has trained personnel that can engage in these projects, building lift stations for new sub divisions as well as ladders and platforms for fuel depots and tank farms.
There is undeniably a large enough market for both us here at E.M.F. and our competition to strive in. E.M.F. is looking to stake out a substantial portion of the market share in order to continue expansion of our current facilities. With the economy of Alberta still flourishing and the rapid development in both Southern Saskatchewan and regions of B.C., the size of the market share is going to continue to increase exponentially, leaving a large aperture for E.M.F. to occupy. E.M.F. has a much smaller overhead than all of its competitors and thus does not need to procure as many projects in order to be profitable. Working within a smaller network allows E.M.F.'s top personnel to have a more direct involvement in projects and procedures, ensuring that E.M.F.'s customers are always getting the same high quality products. E.M.F. customers will also consistently work with the same personnel at E.M.F. allowing a personal relationship to be fostered between them.
The central focus of E.M.F., at the present time, is the advertising and promotion of our products and services. The sales and marketing team at E.M.F. have been rigorously networking with several engineering companies as well as numerous industry leaders, at scheduled meetings and conferences, in order to promote E.M.F. products and services, allowing the E.M.F. name to be recognized across a broad spectrum of commerce. This intense marketing push, by E.M.F. staff, has allowed potential customers from incongruent industries to become familiar with E.M.F. in just a short period of time, recognizing E.M.F. as a highly skilled and experienced contractor. E.M.F. is now at the top of numerous company bid list, giving E.M.F. the opportunity to bid on vast projects across Western Canada.
E.M.F. has put a tremendous amount of capital into advertising and promoting with the publishing of company portfolios with information for our clients plus an interactive website that allows any of our clients to become informed of the work that E.M.F. is currently involved in and products that are being developed in the near future. E.M.F. is also looking into permanent signage along Highway 14 as well as Highway 2, to allow a broader range of potential clients to know of our products and services. The personnel at E.M.F. are committed to promoting E.M.F. products and services to new clients as well as current clients, providing them with the most up to date company information along with the advantages and benefits that working with E.M.F. can bring them.
